Don't ever let someone pull you away from your dreams

IMAGE HEAVY POST~
LOTS OF FOOD PORN
:)

Lace crop top:Cotton On
Inner top:can't remember
Wet look leggings:Supre
Wedges:bought from Valerie
Feather headband:sister's

This is dated yesterday's post as my internet connection was really so bad
that I couldn't even use the internet at all. Blogging from work right now, which is fun at times. There will be a Friday blog post as well.

Great day of good food and awesome shopping with my dear friends Joanne and Yiqin. It was a pretty last minute thing,so I didn't bring my camera along. We headed for lovely Hong Kong food and I scored a new velvet blazer from Topshop which was on sales!
But I can't show you that yet until Chinese New Year in February.
Also,I've been wanting a pair of moccasins for so so long now. I finally purchased it online and I can't wait for them to arrive now. The classic one in brown suede works for me. I guess every girl who purchases something new for herself is a happy thing. I would dare say that shopping is in my blood.

Just an update on now with my work and blogging.
I'm still doing my very best to keep up with everything. Its surely not easy to manage everything together, but I will try my hardest! Don't worry, blog post will surely still be very regular. Only thing that slows down would be replying to comments and blog reading. But I do read all that you comment here:)
I hate to be left behind with all this, but oh well. Guess working is like that at times.

Time for giveaways from my lovely blog friends. The lovely Erica of Sweets and Hearts is having a Photo frame decals giveaway! I feel its really such an interesting one and don't miss out on it. Do you see the new blog banner I have too now? It was also done by her,so thanks so much Erica!

And last but not least, another giveaway from the sweet Starr of A Thought Is The Blossom. She is having a Sweater giveaway! And I would die to get my hands on this. You will regret it if you don't enter :)

I love my glasses right now,but I think I need a new pair. Always loving oversized huge glasses and I won't ever change back to the normal size ones. Been awhile since I sat down and watch a proper movie with popcorn and nachos with cheese. Yummy~

Wore my striped dress again today, but I wore it as a top with this pair of shorts I thrifted way back.It just looks like a pair of men's' shorts, but it fits nicely in my closet with everything else.
Been thinking back on what I've achieved this year. Not as much as I would have wanted to. The year is ending in 25 days!! Need to sit down and think and plan for the year ahead. Do you all do that too each end of the year?

Also, exciting news! Valerie from Marley and Me and myself have collaborated together to bring you the Heel Candies-One for You,One for Me competition.

Sew Delish Stella Ring Giveaway

Lovely Nancy from Sooo LA has kindly teamed
up with me to do this lovely giveaway!
Thanks so much girl, you're very sweet.

She has beautiful style and also runs her own etsy store,Sew Delish.
Its filled with beautiful rings and lots more installed.
Get to know her more through this interview.
Thereafter, how to enter for this giveaway to win
yourself the Stella Ring!

1.A short introduction on yourself.
My name is Nancy Andrade and I am a 24 year old California Girl. I love venturing off in the world of fashion and style. I went to school for broadcast journalism but am currently working in the fashion industry. I LOVE to craft, thrift, and take many many pictures. I recently started my own little shop on Etsy. The name is Sew Delish! and there you can find tons of cute little finds and soon you will also find clothing pieces and crafts made by yours truly.

3.Do you have an absolute favorite piece in your closet now?
Right now, I have soooo many favorite pieces in my closet, but if I had to pick only one, I would say it's my grey marching band inspired jacket! I simply adore it. I love the way it can be dressed up with a cute LBD or kept simple with some tights - cotton, leather, studded, you name it, it is sooo versatile and I love it!!!
credits:here

4.Can you describe your process for selecting items for your store?
Picking stuff out for my store can sometimes be a challenge. Living in Los Angeles, I always find so much inspiration, whether it be walking down fashion district, fabric district, sunset strip, Hollywood, browsing on the gazillion magazines that are available here, or even just people watching! Everyday I get so many ideas popping in my head and I jot them down on my little notebook, then on the weekend I hit up my favorite supply stores in L.A. and get to work. Basically I select the items that I know I would love to wear and other people can add to their collection and design around that.

5.What is your own personal style like?
I would say my personal style is very laid back. I am definitely a big fan of skinny jeans and oversized racer back tanks with cute pumps/stilettos. I do tend to change my style very often though. I am currently still loving the rocker chic vibe. I love love love, biker boots, moto jackets, chunky chains, and big dark jewelry. I don't think I could ever define my style as it is constantly changing, but one thing I can say is that I always go for what I feel good in. :)

6.Besides running an online store, what else takes up your time?
I do alot of photography. I AM OBSESSED with taking pictures. I do both digital and film and as some of you might now, developing film is no easy task and definitely takes up a lot of time, but it's something I love. I also do my own documentary films. I went to school and got my B.A. in broadcast journalism so I work on my own films now and then. I also like to sew! many of the items in my closet are DIY projects!!! :)

7.Where do you gather your inspiration?
My inspiration comes from many places. I love to browse through magazines and pick out the best items that would compliment what I already have. I also like to look at fellow bloggers pages and can really get tons of inspiration there. Since I work in the fashion industry, I usually am exposed to many resources there as well. My favorite source of inspiration however, comes from you, the readers! I love what blogging and bloggers can do. Many of you have such great style and are very inspiring to me! :)

8.Any style advice that you would like to share?
Definitely to work with what you have. I have noticed that many times I overlook some great pieces that are already in my closet and can really add the perfect touch to any outfit. Thrifting is also another great way to vamp up your closet and your style (and its wallet friendly!)

One lucky reader will be winning the gorgeous Stella Ring,as shown below.

Thrush Vintage Knit Hair Bow Giveaway !

Time for another giveaway~
The lovely Anne from Thrush Vintage has kindly teamed up with me for
this lovely giveaway.
She's offering up one knit hair bow each to 3 lucky readers!
In Cranberry,Cream and Saffron.

So each winner will get a different color knit hair bow.
Perfect to match with outfits or to add a dazzle touch to your hair.

Here's first a short interview I did with her.

1.A short introduction on yourself.
My name is Anne and I run Thrush Vintage out of Denver.

2.What started your love for vintage?
I've always loved vintage clothing, starting when I was in high school. I did a lot of thrifting then, and remembering what I gave away when I went off to college breaks my heart a little bit. Why did I ever think that giving away a 1960's yellow cotton a-line skirt with embroidered birds all over it was a good idea?

3.Do you have an absolute favorite piece?
I have many favorite pieces now, but the one dearest to my heart would have to be a 1950's black cocktail dress with a lace inset collar that makes me kind of swoon every time I look at it.

4.Can you describe your process for selecting items for your store?
When I'm picking an item for my shop, I consider lots of things. Sometimes something will just pop out at me and I'll know I have to have it for the shop, but my number one rule is that just because something is vintage doesn't make it pretty, and the ultimate decider is fit.

I want women to really love the pieces they buy from me and really love how they look in them, and cut is what really makes or breaks a garment.

5.What is your own personal style like?
My own personal style is probably best described as eclectic and relaxed. I try to mix vintage pieces from the shop with newer garments so that nothing looks dated, and love that I have a never-ending cyclical wardrobe.
There are only about five or six pieces I own that I refuse to give up to the shop.

6.Besides running an online store, what else takes up your time?
Running the shop takes up much of my day, and for me there's nothing better than owning and running my own business. I can take a day off whenever I feel like it, and I truly love running the store.

7.Where do you gather your inspiration?
I gather my inspiration from all around. Lately I've been watching Mad Men, and so have been adding tons of early 60's wiggle dresses to the shop and continually reassuring myself that no, I would not look good with bright red hair.

8.Any style advice that you would like to share?
My best style advice is to not get stuck in a fashion rut or allow any scene to dictate how you dress. And absolutely have fun with what you wear!

Here's how to enter:

Mandatory entry- Go visit Anne’s store- Thrush Vintage. Then leave a comment with a link to your favorite item, and why it’s your favorite. Easy!

For any extra entries, leave an additional comment for each that you do.

So you must be wondering what is Brazilet ?

Brazilets are a 200 year-old tradition from mystical Bahia, Brazil. Worn throughout Latin America, they have spiritual significance for all who wear them.

Wrap your Brazilets around your wrist and tie three knots, making a wish with each knot. When your Brazilets naturally break down and fall off, it is believed that your three wishes will come true.
Click here for history of these lovely wish ribbons!

Help spread the word for a good cause in helping the fight against Cancer!
In the month of September,it's handbag month at Handbag.com
Celebrities donate their bags from their own closet to help raise money for Cancer Research.
Scarlett Johansson, Heidi Klum, and Rachel Weisz are just a few of the various celebrities who have already donated bags.

These bags will be auctioned on eBay during October 4-11 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK, the largest single funder of breast cancer research in the UK.

I believe we as women, must help each other in the fight against this.
Breast cancer is happening to more and more women, some even really at a young age.
We should help and speak up for each other .

Really do help to spread the word around.

Lovely Annie from Annie Spandex is hosting a giveaway on her blog as a Thank You gift for helping to spread the word courtesy of Handbag Amnesty!
She'll be giving away a DKNY Nappa Chain Hobo bag to one person :)

So head on down to her blog to participate in this meaningful cause ! Click here for full details.

And fret not !
This is open to everyone,no matter where you are.(Even for non-bloggers!)
